It was an honor to have made this site for Ronel Nel of Top Slaghuis Ventersburg. And my oh my…. it was pure torture to keep a straight face and not to drule on my dress when taking the pictures of the biltong and other dried meat.

Meet the Zimbabwe Team – CRC Wireworks

For now their home is Ventersburg –

Curlington, Richard, Lyson, Christopher & Dunken.

They have been making Wire Trees for a long time – starting in Zimbabwe, and for the last 3 years or so – from Ventersburg. Ever passed their stall? – Right next to the N1 Caltex Garage – you would see their display. They take in orders also – and have made HUGE trees for some customers. To make such a tree takes anything from 2 days to 2 weeks. Talking to them – i can see they are very proud of their craft.

Here some of their smaller trees is used at the local VLU (Vroue Landbou Unie) conference. The ladies was very impressed with CRC Wireworks. The trees completed their theme for the day perfectly. Thank you Curlington – I was proud to say I know you guys !

Die Kuierhuis – Guest House & Wedding Venue

Welcome to my favourite Guest House near Ventersburg. Die Kuierhuis … english?  – The House that you have to go back to for best meals, farm atmoshpere and and …. and the nicest people.  How can i say all that in one english word… no – still don’t have a clue. Words like nostalgic, welcome, warm, peaceful, unique… all comes to mind.

Ever noticed how a guestfarm/lodge looks like the next one – looks like the next one…. well – Die Kuierhuis is NOT like that. It is more FARM – more FAMILY – long nights under the stars, and the peaceful quietness you can only get in more remote places…

Meet Tannie Amanda & Oom Andries – they are the owners and managers of the guest farm.

They have been back in the Free State for more than 10 years – living and farming on the  family farm.  And one soon become friends after a short visit. They have 3 beautiful daughters – and it was always so nice to see how they all chipped in and worked at functions. But now – they are all grown up…. my how time flies.

We have taken photo’s at countless weddings at Die Kuierhuis – the sunset photo’s that is always show stoppers.

There is so much i can say about them – but since pictures speaks a thousand words…. here is my share:
